Guidance for Advertisers

Members with a litter of puppies are welcome to advertise in this section of The Pointer Club of Scotland website. It is assumed that any member advertising here is familiar with and adheres to the Pointer Club of Scotland Code of Ethics.
Please provide your contact details, the DOB of your litter, details of the breeding of the sire and dam, number, sex and colour of available pups. You may want to include a brief description of what a prospective buyer might expect regarding temperament, rearing, worming/microchipping and the after sales service you will offer. We are happy to include up to four pictures with your advert but ask that you email Jon Kean, our website content manager jonkean@hotmail.co.uk with the details of your advert and again when your puppies have gone to their new homes, so that our website can be kept up to date.
Guidance for Purchasers

It is advised that prospective owners do their research on the breed characteristics, temperament and needs before welcoming a Pointer puppy into their family. It is important that you go to a responsible breeder who is rearing healthy puppies. Try as far as possible to view the sire and dam of the puppies in their own surroundings and ask pertinent questions. Genuine breeders will be happy to answer all questions and this meeting will give you the chance to see the type and temperament of their dogs.
You should expect to receive the following from the Breeder:
- A signed Pedigree Form.
- A signed Kennel Club Registration Certificate (these may not have been received by the time your puppy is ready but ask for evidence that the application has been applied for).
- An understanding and agreement of any Kennel Club endorsements.
- A Diet Sheet and a small quantity of the food your puppy has been reared on, sufficient for the first few days in its new home.
- Advice on Training/Rearing your puppy.
- Advice on your puppy's vaccination programme.
- A form showing the dates the puppy was wormed and advice on when to next worm the puppy.
